Each Churchkhela is coated in real fruit juice, which makes up 45% of every piece. The flavor comes entirely from the fruit itself, as the nut string is dipped to build a smooth, rich fruit layer that defines the taste and color of each flavor.
Pieces of nuts are carefully hand-threaded onto a food-safe string, forming the core of each Churchkhela. This traditional string of nuts is then dipped into fruit juice, following a centuries-old method that defines the authentic way Churchkhela is made.
A small amount of flour is added only to gently thicken the fruit juice, allowing it to bind evenly to the nuts and form the rich, thick fruit coating that defines every Chella Churchkhela. This traditional step helps achieve the signature texture while keeping the recipe simple, natural, and true to its origins.
